Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from natto, a traditional Japanese food made by fermenting soya beans with Bacillus subtilis.

Each capsule provides 100 mg of nattokinase with an enzymatic activity of 2,000 fibrinolytic units (FU).

Nattokinase is commonly used in supplements designed to support cardiovascular and circulatory well-being. Laboratory studies show that it has fibrinolytic activity, meaning it can interact with fibrin. However, evidence that nattokinase supplements prevent cardiovascular events or safely treat blood clots remains limited.

What Is Nattokinase?

Nattokinase is an enzyme produced during the fermentation of soya beans used to make natto.

Unlike conventional digestive enzymes, nattokinase is marketed for cardiovascular and circulatory support. It should not, however, be used to prevent or treat thrombosis, stroke, heart attack or any diagnosed circulatory condition.
